​Positive Healthcare have a great opportunity for a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist in Paediatrics at a hospital in the City of London.

Hours of Work / Contract Duration:

·         Full time, hours negotiable

·         3 month contract with the possibility of extension

Rate of Pay:

·         Up to Band 8b

Job Requirements

·         Doctorate level qualification (or equivalent) in Clinical Psychology

·         including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology

·         two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology

·         eligibility for membership of the British Psychological Society (desirable at the level of Chartered Clinical Psychologist)

·         HCPC registration as a Clinical Psychologist

·         essential experience working with children, young people and their families in the context of the chronic physical conditions (paediatric liaison psychology)

·         desirable experience working in paediatric diabetes, cystic fibrosis and general paediatrics (pain management, medically unexplained symptoms, supporting parents on the ward, adherence to treatment, supporting newly diagnosed patients and their families, managing challenging behaviours on the ward, anxiety related to physical health, and similar)

·         Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups

·         Ability to deal with stressful situations arising with staff and clients
